About The Event
Wet felted soap.
Felting with wool is an ancient process. The earliest evidence of felt making is wall
coverings found in Turkey dating back as far as 6500 BC.
In this workshop we will learn about different fibres and explore the craft of wet
felting with sheep’s wool.
Soap and washcloth in one!
Wrapping a bar of soap with wool and agitating the fibres creates a unique way to use soap. The
soap becomes encased in the fibre. Wool is naturally antibacterial combined with soap it makes a
great all in one washcloth which can be reused by cutting open the wool pocket and inserting a new
soap. Have fun mixing different colours of wool to make your own patterns.
Materials fee of 8 euro per person applies and is payable to the course tutor.
