Creative and Practical Leatherwork for Kids

Basic leatherworking skills for children, including cutting, punching, thonging, rivetting, stitching, decorating and dyeing.  Safe use of leatherworking tools.

Small item projects tailored to the child's inclinations and abilities, eg. wristbands, pendants, keyring fobs, drawstring pouches, purses, phone pouches, belts etc..  Each child can bring their phone, penknife or other item which they would like to make a pouch for, eg. children who have previously attended the Adventure Bushcraft workshop may like to make a pouch for fire-starting equipment.

Examples of leather items that can be made over the weekend are pictured and each child can expect to make 3 or 4 these pieces, or variations of them.
