PLANT MAGIC - 8 days over summer period at Eve's Orchard small-holding with Kes Clarke
Sunday 27th November 2011 -10am-4pm (making an Advent wreath)
INTERMEDIATE BLACKSMITHING with Mark Wilson at The Old Forge, Mountshannon - 4 weekends. This course is
designed for students with basic metal working skills. The course will cover blacksmithing and metalworking skills, including
an element of copper-craft. It will include drawing-out, upsetting, basics of fine welding and riveting with projects that allow
for individual creativity.
Trees for Food with Saul Mosbacher.
A look at different systems for combining traditional farming or gardening with tree crops. This will include shelter-belts, trees in
pasture and trees combined with crops of vegetables and herbs. The right trees in the right places - also good for biodiversity
and carbon storage. Also, participants will learn about wild harvests from native and non-native trees and shrubs and the preserves
that can be made from them.
Woodland Life under the Microscope
An opportunity to have a close look at some of the usually unseen and amazing microscopic life forms that inhabit our native woodlands.
Natural Building Skills - intermediate and advanced levels
House and shelter building using traditional techniques and natural materials : cob / cordwood, hazel wattle and daub, dry-stone,
lime mortar, timber-frame, clay oven, etc.
